How to create your first audio visualizer video
A first-video walkthrough covering audio, artwork, visualizer settings, clip range and MP4 saving.
- Load audio, then choose the format, background and visualizer to make your first video.
- Test a short MP4 for sound, timing and readable text before exporting the required length.
- Export uses desktop Chrome or Edge. This guide does not cover audio repair or uploading to YouTube.
1. Load audio and select a short passage
Open the Editor, select Choose file and press Play below the preview. If there is no sound and the position does not advance, follow audio import and playback troubleshooting.
Open the Range tab and expand Clip range. Set Start point and End point in seconds. Choose about 15 seconds with both quiet and strong sounds. For the first 15 seconds, use start 0 and end 15. Check that Selected range shows 15 seconds.
2. Choose the format and background
In Setup → Format, choose 16:9 for landscape, 9:16 for portrait or 1:1 for square. Choose this first to avoid having to redo the layout.
Expand Background image and use Choose image to load a photo or cover. You can also choose a built-in background. Check that the face and title fit the preview. For cropped artwork, see aspect ratio and background composition.
3. Choose a visualizer
In Setup → Visualizer, choose a shape that fits the available space.
- Bars: shows changes through bar height; useful in a wide horizontal space.
- Line: a line-shaped visualizer that can sit discreetly below a photo or title.
- Circle: movement around a circle; adjust its size and position around a motif in the background.
Quick styles change shape, placement and color together, so choose one before making individual adjustments. Replay a strong passage and leave room for the visualizer to expand.

4. Adjust placement, size and color
Open Adjust → Size & position and choose Alignment. Fine-tune Position X and Position Y, then Width and Height. If Bars cover a centered title, try Bottom centre and reduce Height to leave a gap.
In Appearance → Primary color, choose a color that stands out from the background. A light color is a useful starting point on a dark background.
If strong sounds spread too far, lower Response in Motion. If brief fluctuations are distracting, increase Smoothing. See Response and Smoothing for detailed tuning.

5. Save a short MP4
Select Export at the top and choose 720p in Resolution. Check available duration and resolution in Export and on the pricing page.
Inspect the dimensions and duration below Export MP4. If they match your selected passage, press Export MP4. Keep the browser open and the device awake until it finishes.
Open the saved MP4 to check sound, timing and readable text. If you cannot find the file, open the browser’s downloads list.

6. Export the required length
Return to Clip range, set the required Start point and End point, and export using your tested settings. Play the beginning, middle and end of the finished MP4, including strong passages and the final sound that were outside the test.
The same browser restores settings such as the visualizer, format and resolution. After a reload, select the audio, custom background image and clip range again.
