Calm an oversized visualizer during loud passages
Tune Response and Smoothing while comparing quiet and loud passages in your track.
- Lower Response using the loud passage if the visualizer becomes oversized at the chorus.
- Recheck the same quiet passage, then adjust Smoothing while preserving visible changes in both.
- These controls change the picture. Use an audio editor to change the recording’s volume balance.
1. Choose a quiet and a loud passage
For a piano track, select a quiet introduction and a strongly played chorus. Confirm that the audio plays, then note the two playback positions.
Keep the visualizer type, placement and background fixed. Switching Quick styles during this comparison can also replace colors and placement, making the result harder to judge.
2. Set Response using the louder passage
Open Adjust → Motion. Replay the louder passage and lower Response gradually. Note the original value so you can restore it.
For example, try changing 1.25× to 1.10× and replay the same passage. This is a comparison example, not a recommended value for every track. Look for movement that still distinguishes strong and weak sounds instead of appearing pinned at its maximum extent.
Then replay the quiet passage. Subtle movement is enough if the changes remain visible. Raising Response to make the quiet passage dramatic can bring back the oversized movement later.
3. Adjust Smoothing separately
Keep Response fixed and increase Smoothing in small steps. Check whether brief sounds produce fewer distracting fluctuations. Lower it if the beginning of notes becomes hard to see or motion feels sluggish.
Smoothing does not fix a visualizer whose overall placement is too large. If the movement is readable but touches the title or frame, reduce Width or Height in Size & position.
4. Check other strong passages
Replay any later section that is louder than your test passage. Export a short MP4 and check whether you can read the title without distracting movement before exporting the required length.
If audio plays but the visualizer barely moves, also check its height, opacity and contrast with the background. If the audio itself is missing, start with audio import and playback.
These adjustments do not even out recording levels. Use an audio editor if the sound itself needs changes.
