Privacy Policy
How Sonoray handles browser-local media processing, browser storage, contact reports, and site delivery data.
Last updated: August 15, 2026.
Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Sonoray handles information when you use the public website, browser-based editor, and the private administrator area.
Media stays in your browser
Sonoray is designed for browser-local processing. When you use the editor, selected source media, filenames, extracted audio or video data, rendered frames, and completed exports are processed in your browser.
Sonoray does not upload this editor media or local export data as part of editing or MP4 export. We do not sell or license your selected media.
Anonymous operational measurements
To keep Sonoray reliable, the editor may send a small anonymous usage event when the editor opens, media is loaded, or an MP4 export starts, completes, is queued, cancelled, or fails. For exports, the event contains only the source type (audio or video), selected 720p, 1080p, or 4K resolution, a duration band, visualizer type, and a fixed failure category when applicable. A completed export also contributes rounded output duration and elapsed processing time to that day's aggregate total.
Sonoray does not collect or store selected media, filenames, extracted audio or video data, rendered frames, completed exports, exact trim positions, browser-local diagnostics, full error text, IP addresses, full user-agent strings, or persistent person or session identifiers as part of this measurement. Completed export duration and processing time are rounded and retained only as daily aggregate totals, never as an individual export record.
These measurements are stored as daily aggregate counts, not as an individual event log. They are used only to understand broad feature use and export reliability, not for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Browser storage
Sonoray may store interface preferences and saved visualizer presets, such as language and panel layout, in browser local storage. Saved presets contain only visualizer settings and output format; they do not contain selected media, source files, background images, or file names. It may also keep temporary export diagnostics in session storage for the current browser tab. Those diagnostics are not automatically sent to Sonoray and are cleared when the tab is closed. You can clear browser storage through your browser settings.
Accounts and administrator access
The public editor does not require an account. You may optionally create a Sonoray account with an email address and password. We use those credentials to authenticate and secure the account. The current public account does not store selected media, filenames, background images, rendered frames, completed exports, browser-local diagnostics, or browser-local presets.
The account is intended to support future purchases and opt-in preset synchronization. We will update this Policy before either feature stores additional information. Supabase Auth supports customer accounts and separately protects the private administrator area; administrator access is limited to authorized administrators.
Contact and issue reports
Opening the Contact page does not automatically submit an export report. You choose what to copy or send.
If you voluntarily send a message through a configured email address or external contact service, we receive the information you choose to include. We use it to respond, investigate a reported problem, and protect or improve Sonoray. The provider of that contact channel may process the information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Site delivery and security
Hosting, content delivery, authentication, and security providers may process standard technical request information needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website. This can include network and device information that is normally present in web requests.
Sonoray does not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics to collect selected media, filenames, rendered output, or browser-local export diagnostics. The limited anonymous operational measurements described above are sent only to Sonoray's collection endpoint and do not contain those items.
When information is shared
We may use service providers that are necessary to host, secure, authenticate, or support Sonoray. We may also disclose information when required to comply with applicable law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Sonoray and others. This does not change the browser-local handling of your selected editor media.
Changes to this policy
We will update this Policy before introducing material new uses of personal information, including public user accounts, payments, analytics that collect editor data, or user-submitted online storage. The effective date at the top shows the latest revision.
